An intimate wedding on 50 acres of private bushland in Gippsland, entirely yours for two days
The Ridge House hosts micro weddings, elopements, and wedding preparation stays on 50 acres of private bushland in Gippsland, 90 minutes from Melbourne. Four bedrooms, indoor and outdoor ceremony settings, and a two-day package with the whole property exclusively yours.
A word of honesty before anything else: The Ridge House is not a wedding venue. It's a fully renovated country house perched on a private ridgeline, featured in Country Style and The Weekend Australian (read the story), with two full days where nobody is hurrying you out the door. For some couples, no venue is exactly the point.
Getting ready here
Four bedrooms means your wedding party gets ready without tripping over each other. Natural light in every room (your photographer will thank you), breakfast already in the fridge, and 50 acres of settings for photos: the veranda with its ornamental grape, the garden, the bush trails, or Loggers Lookout with the valley stretching toward Mount Baw Baw behind you.
Brides and bridesmaids book this.
So do grooms and groomsmen.
Small ceremonies, your way
Outdoor and indoor ceremony settings for up to 20 people, including your celebrant, photographer, and other vendors. Exchange vows in the garden, on the deck, or at Loggers Lookout.
If the weather turns, the main living room with its wood fire and original timber ceiling is a rain plan couples end up half-hoping for.
There are no locked-in vendor lists and no minimum spends. You bring the celebrant, florist, photographer, and caterer you actually want, and if you need recommendations, Kristy keeps a list of local wedding folk she trusts. Once you have booked, this list is yours too!
Amplified music is fine on a completely private 50 acres, though sound travels across these hills, so outdoor music finishes by 10pm. And yes, your dog can be at your wedding.

"Spending my final 'single lady' hours here with my bridesmaids and parents made getting ready for our wedding actually enjoyable. A little piece of The Ridge House is part of our wedding story." — Mikaela

Make a magical two-day stay
The Wedding Stay is priced as your two-night accommodation rate at full occupancy (8 people) for your dates, plus a $650 wedding fee. Rates vary with the season, (from $2600) so once you enquire, Kristy will send a full quote for your dates with everything included: accommodation, wedding fee, GST and the Victorian short stay levy. One price, no surprises.
The rate is the same whether two people sleep here or eight. The whole property is yours for both nights, and who stays each night is entirely up to you. Plenty of couples have the bridal party stay the night before and keep the second night for themselves.

Included with every stay
Exclusive use of the whole property (all four bedrooms, 50 acres, no other guests, sleeps up to 8 overnight) and breakfast provisions of local and homemade goods: Green Hills Farm honey, Gippsland Jersey milk and butter, local sourdough, fresh eggs.
Not included, by design:
celebrant, catering, styling, florals, and furniture hire are all arranged by you, so the day reflects your style and your budget rather than a venue's package. Kristy's local vendor list is yours for the asking.
Securing your dates:
a 50% deposit confirms your booking, with the balance due 30 days before arrival. Cancellations made more than 90 days before your event receive a full refund. Within 90 days of the event, the deposit is non-refundable.
For a sit-down celebration lunch or dinner, Messmates Dining and Hogget Kitchen are both hatted restaurants around 20 minutes away (book well ahead). Or hold a small stand-up catered gathering at the house, then stay on for the first slow morning of married life. Checkout is 4pm.

No smoking.
-
Dogs are welcome as part of your day (up to two, no additional fee).
